Training


AKTUS provides on-site as well as web-based training options for risk and other relevant employees either as standard sessions or as sessions tailored to your needs.


This may include on-site tailored and task focused training sessions where practical on-the-job training combines active participation and learning with solving

specific assignments and meeting task objectives.


Intelligent Risk Taking

This training session takes participants from traditional risk avoidance and control thinking into a value-adding decision focused intelligent risk taking.

Topics covered includes:

  • The need to update risk management
  • Enhancing risk management basics
  • Introduction to Monte Carlo Simulation
  • Decision focused risk management
  • Strategic scenario-based risk management


On-site. The training session requires 5 - 15 participants to be optimal. The session is as standard planned for one (full) day, and will be tailored to meet company needs, but can be expanded into a more in-depth hands-on/minds-on two-day session


Web-based. The training is limited to 1-3 persons and encompass a single 2-hour introductory session or is prepared in a series 2-3 of 2 hour online sessions with "home-work" in between.


Training may further be based on a company relevant "case" such as addressing a specific:

  • Strategy,
  • Project/initiative
  • Decision process
  • Resource/capacity planning
  • Budgeting/cash flow

or like topic as agreed between us


Monte Carlo Simulation

Monte Carlo Simulation is a pivotal tool for risk managers when a portfolio of risks is to be considered in fulfilment of an objective. This irrespectively of whether this is meeting the strategic aspiration, next year’s budget, or the defined targets for a specific project.


Based on years of experience, AKTUS provides a one-day hands-on/minds-on training program which enables participants to leverage this tool actively in managing a risk portfolio. The training covered includes:

  • The basic on an empirical approach
  • Defining/choosing distributions
  • The value of accurate information
  • Modelling and simulation
  • Reading/understading results
  • Reporting tips and tricks


Training may include customer specific issues and assessments.


The training is based on @Risk from Palisade or ModelRisk from VOSE software, and participants are assumed to have this available.


On-site. The training is a full-day training and may cover 1-8 attendees.


Web-based. The training is limited to 1-3 attendees giving either a single 2 hour introductory training or a series of 2-3 on-line workshops with homework in between.
